I need some pc computer (windows xp)settings help

Does anyone know why I get big, blank squares with a little red x in the corner on some posts and others come in loud and clear??? Damn it, I only get to see and hear what ya'll post if the link is right any pc wizards out there that can help me

.... usually goes away after shutting down and re-booting .... guess to much stuff is running all jumbled up in the background.
