I own a explorer and just bought a CZ7 as a second detector. What can I expect with this CZ Tkanks.

Basically user friendly depth...I really feel coil for coil a CZ is deeper. Remember a CZ comes with a stock 8 inch coil and an Explorer with a stock 10.5..
Refer to Mikes CZ page for a lot of tips..http://mikewd.fws1.com/

Don, it depends on the type of hunting you like to do.
Beach hunting wet/dry sand, depth is fabulous. Good machine for small golds. This machine has even found thin gold chains on the beach. When you turn on salt mode, the wet salt sand will not give you any false signals.
Land hunting, depth is good, but not great. Reason is that CZ is not the greatest machine for separating junk/good targets. Target masking is a little high on this machine. It's still a pretty good land machine however. I've found many deep silvers with it.
I wouldn't recommend this machine for relic hunting however, unless you like rusty nails. The CZ loves rusty irons, they sneak through the discriminator.
Battery life is great on this machine, you easily get 30+ usable hours on a set of 12 AA's. The only thing about the Cz-7 is that you can't hipmount it, they changed this on the Cz-7a. Plus, the 7a uses 9V batteries, I think.
It took me a while to really get to know this machine, but it's definitely one of my favorites. You will probably be happy with it.
