I played with my 12 incher today. I think I'm hooked :super:

My son thought he lost his cell phone by our pond. It's flat covered with leaves and the grass is pretty tall. So there sat my big 9x12 inch Ace coil. All curled up in the corner of the room. Begging to hunt. To be honest I haven't hunted with it at all really. I use the 6x9 for about everything. Even big areas. Well I slapped the big 12 incher on the 250. I waved my cell phone over it and it hit at a dime. So I set the sens at 1 bar and started hunting. I got a lot of signals two were belltones. I thought to myself that it can't be. I've hunted this area 10 times with that many different machines. I simply stuck sticks in the ground to mark the hits because I didn't take a knife with me looking for the phone. Well I didn't find the phone but I believe I have found a new main coil! I went back to the house and grabbed my propointer and Lesche. I went back to the signals and pinpointed and the pointer sounded off on the ground. I couldn't believe how accurate the big coil is at pinpointing. Well I pulled a 1972 dime out. The other coin signal was some can slaw. But I went on to hunt in all metal and dug about a dozen pull tabs. Each one pinpointed with deadly accuracy. In all metal I was hitting target close together. Mostly iron and tabs. Like 6 inches apart under a good sweep speed. I'm leaving this big coil on. Now I think my small coil will be the 6x9. Well if you haven't given the 9x12 coil a good try then do so. I can't believe I'm going on maybe 2 1/2 years without giving the big coil a chance. I've always been a stock and sniper coil guy myself.
PS: My son found his phone on the bus.

gonna get my 12 inch coil out this weekend for the first time.i love my sniper coil on my 550 but i usually hunt in trashy areas.glad your son found his cellphone they ain't cheap LOL

My sons cell phone cost quite a bit of money. But I run around on free cheapo phones. Those kids have it all. Frankly I'm a little sick of it.
Man, I forgot how much ground a 12 inch coil will cover. This thing pinpoints maybe better than the 6x9 coil? All I did was detune the target. Then either pinpointed dead center . Or used the pull back method. Both ways were dead on.

I may be one of them. I'll leave it on and give it a work out. If I can ever get to hunting more. I have a lot of work and it gets dark at 4:30
So maybe this weekend? I hope.

Yeah this getting dark at 4:30 sucks. I'm used to summer and dark at 10:30 or so. When I lived in Northern Idaho it didn't get dark in the summer until about 11:00 PM

My cell phone cost $19.95 and it costs me $20 every three months to keep it going. It does everything the expensive ones do. I rarely use it as I hate cell phones.

Hummm. I was up at my place in OK a couple of weeks ago. I was out rambling around
the woods, and dropped my cell phone about halfway back into the lot. "5 acres worth"
Of course, I didn't notice this until I got back to my camp area and started wondering
what happened to my phone. I looked all over and couldn't find it, so I started thinking
I must have dropped it in the woods.
Now one thing about that phone.. The ring tone is a rooster, as in cockle doodle doo...
It's a recording of a real rooster..
Then I remembered that I had my 2nd work cell phone with me also.
So I called my personal cell with my work cell, and then would point my ear into
the woods and listen. Way off in the distance, cockle doodle doo! Success!!!!
I compared it with the ring I heard in my ear just to make sure it was the right rooster.
It was.. :) "there are real roosters in the area too.."
So I hung up and started walking in that direction a ways, and then called it again.
A little louder.. I had to do it a couple more times and finally found it dropped on the
ground.
But if I didn't have that method, I would have strapped the 9x12 on and started retracing
my steps.
I use the 9x12 quite a bit. But I always choose my coil depending on the site and
trash level. So you can never tell which coil I might be using. I don't stick to any
particular one. And.. I still use the stock coil quite a bit.. Some areas the 9x12
is too big and clumsy. IE: heavy brush, etc.. I'll tend to use the stock coil in brush,
and if really thick, the sniper.
Anyway, you might grab a spare phone and try to call it before the battery goes dead
on it. You might get lucky and have it tell you where it is.
PS.. never mind.. For some reason I missed that he found it on the bus..

That is the only coil that I use!!! I have found a lot of coins in trashy area with it.

Plus he has in the silent mode. I know I need to use the right coil for each situation. But before the big coil never even crossed my mind very much. I just never gave it a good shot. Now I will.
