I was in the area of the demo-ed houses and found these holes that were just dug. So I decided to MD the fresh dirt.

I first thing I detected was this dime.

The ring says sterling silver on the inside.

I looked down and saw this. Well this is what I saw sticking up. I put a paper towel around it to show what I saw.

You can see what it really is in the total.

The last thing I found was this medicine bottle. Not real old, but I like it.

Kewel!!!

Nice finds ! I need to get off my butt and get out there and do some hunting.

Nice looking rings..

Or merely golden? I know you noticed the "O" mint mark on that dime. Great year and a rare New Orleans mark. I don't have one in my collection.

It is a gold plated porcelain lid to something. The loop was sticking above the dirt and the lid part was below the dirt.
I meant to mention the "o", but forgot.

Great finds.

Is that amethyst or ruby in that ring? Too light for garnet I think. A nice ruby would be worth a bit.

It is a nice pretty light pink stone. Being a silver ring I wouldn't think it was anything valuable.

Man....those sure are some great finds. I can't believe all the gold targets which have been dug up lately and posted on the forum. :)

Funny how you see what you want to see. I only saw the ring too! Still one great ring and one really great dime!

Seems like work and kids take up all my time. If I'm not working my wife is. Plus the fact that any place close to my house I cleaned out. I had a few people with detectors come into town to hunt one of my old sites. They told my brother inlaw that when I hunt a place there's nothing left there. May be that will keep them in there own area.
