I Sorted Out ALL My Ring For 2009, And It Was A Record Breaking Year! Is The Economy Sheading Pounds Off People To The Point Of Losing Rings? :blowup

Off from work today, looking at the skiff of white snow on the ground through the window beside me as I type. Lots of memories to contemplate from this past year. I broke records in gold totals, over all ring totals and amount of $$$. Was it the brand make, weather, luck, economy? Not sure. Once I crunch my hours for hours, coin totals, loot total, maybe I can get a better idea. Been doing this for about 15 years, and yes, a place never really gets hunted out, and it pays (literally) to find new spots to hunt.

Any how, below are the rings for 2009!

That is a lot of rings.
Good year for you in that department..

congrats John, that surely is an amazing amount of rings ,, I think where we live we coud hunt for 15 years and not even find 10 rings(small town miles from anywhere),, got to get out more

Awesome ring total!! It amazes me how you just keep on finding them. You could find a LOT of girlfriends with all those. If you are not married that is...;)

Great Job !!

Well.....I am married, and as most most married guys who detect, the rings end up on our wifey's fingers, in exchange for time alotted in the field.

Well, Edmonton and surrounding comunities gives us a population of about 1.5 million, and I do often drive out of Edmonton for both land and water sites. So, if I lived in a small town, I couldn't possibly get this many. I guess the main point with this hobby is hunting as often as we can, and hunting the things we like, be it coins, relics or jewellery. But we do it because we enjoy it!

Holy smokes dude...! Thats friggin great ring total. Send that pic to Garrett for sure. I think I might find that many rings in a 5 year span. I have to make it up with my gold dredge.

Hey I was looking at Edmonton on Google Earth, your in quite a large city, I didnt know it is that big...no wonder you never run out of places to hunt and find the great stuff. Cool looking city with the river running through it, with the sky scrapers in the back ground. Thats what I miss about Atlanta, big town, more loot, and GOOD loot.

Great job you do with your Garretts,
Alan

And, there is flower gold in the river, but no nuggets and no mother load. No increase in gold as you head up stream or down stream. There's a couple of theories as to why this is so, but that's another days topic. I built a sluice box and shovelled (no dredges are allowed) gravel. After about 2 1/2 seasons, I got about 1 1/2 ounces of the stuff, then got into metal detecting, where I really took to the sport.

Below is the flower gold I have worked so hard for.

That is some super super fine gold. It all adds up though. Would be nice to plop a dredge in that river. Nice work with the sluicing!

Thats amazing,,,, some very nice eye candy for me,,, one that finds only(about) a couple of gold rings per year.:please:

There's got to be something wrong with you,, I think you should see a doctor right away! JK
Very Nice Totals.
