I think God has answered the prayers about me being a leader of..

Pete in MI

New member
our church as Administrative Team.

http://www.onenewsnow.com/2007/05/gender-bender_methodist_minist.php

A female minister for the United Methodist Church has undergone surgery to change herself to a himself and has been ordained back into the UMC under her, er, his male name.

She, er He, claims that in so many words, that God made her a woman by mistake and that science has set things right.

The church we have been going to is a UMC church. Remember a while back I gave up an ordination from a church because it ordained witches, warlocks, etc.? I refused to stand in agreement with them...I'm not holding their hands in agreement knowing their fate is hell.

Unless there is a major change soon in the UMC, we may have to go find yet another church for fellowship and the Word. Would hate to see a church split up over this...I would prefer to see the ones leading UMC to get a convicted spirit and change things to be in line with God's Word.

I refuse to accept God makes mistakes. No where does the Bible say He ever did.

So as I say maybe the decision to be the leader of the Administrative Team has been taken out of my hands by God.

Sorry to hear that's going on Pete. We went to a UMC church for awhile down in KY. There were some Bible believing preachers in that church when I was young. Don't know about now.

I liked his answers and know he is truthful and upright. I may still give the lead for the Administrative Team more consideration.

I was very relieved when the Pastor wrote back.

In short, policies within the UMC follow the Bible. Problem they ran into is there is nothing about trans-gendered people being ordained. A homosexual cannot be ordained but because of there being nothing against transgendered in the policies they either had to ordain her-him or whatever it is or risk a law suit. That's the only reason the Bishop allowed the 'person' to be ordained.

My thought is that that ordination should be taken away for several reasons (1) the person is not 'changed' to be in line with God's Word, (2) saying God made a mistake in creating her is blasphemy and that should not come out of an ordained minister's mouth (3) the change was made only to cause strife and conflict within the church (UMC) and makes a mockery of the Body of Christ. For those reasons alone they should have just cause to pull the ordination and if it goes to court it is not a situation of violation of sexual preference but one of not being fit to lead others to Christ or to be a witness of Christ.

As for the individual church I belong to, each church is autonomous..it runs itself...and as the Pastor said that if it were anything more than this loophole (that will be fixed soon) he would have left the UMC a long time ago.

I love our Pastor and the church we are going to and the people who attend and serve the Lord there. So will continue to pray for direction from God as to what I should do.

Looks like maybe you have seen a closed door. Keep in prayer on direction from Him on the whole church issue! I will also!
