I am trying to make a homepage for my club.Is it possible to reduce the pics area rather than size. I have MGI Photosuite and there is a box that can surround the imgage but I don't know whether that will eliminate its surroundings. When I put the picture on my page it covers up all the other writing I have done so I have to clear it off. Your feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. I know how to resize but the area of say 640 X 520 still remains.

in Adobe Photoshop there is a thing called the magic wand. This will let you eliminate everything but what you want to keep, the coin, and copy it to another program. You can also use a tool that lets you, carefully cut out the object and do the same thing. Your program probably has similar tools

I don't have that particular software package but most image porcessing programs are similar. The box you mention sounds like a selection tool. Usually if you select the area in the photo you're interested in there is a command called "crop" which will extract just the part of the picture you've selected with the box. If there is no crop command you can select the area (with the "box"), copy it and paste it in a new file which does essentially the same thing.
If this is not what you're talking about let me know ... it should be easy to figure out once we know exactly what you want.
Good luck ... Gord.
