I thought I dug a large cent in the field today......

.......but I was wrong, it is a foreign coin from 1907, went back to the field again that I was at friday. Only 3 keepers today. The coin, clay marble and the neat brass valve. The site is real trashy, have to go real slow with my small coil.

That is a LC in my book. Maybe not US. Brittian I think? hard to see it. Congrats bud!
 
I think that may be an English One Pence Copper. I have quite a few from the 1800's. I will check my collection and see. Nice valve too.

Hey Terry, I checked my collection, and that is a Large English Copper. I have one just like it. I bought a whole bag of those ranging from the 1800's to mid 1900's. Also have a whole tube full of those from 1967 in mint condition. If you want one for your collection, I will send you one FREE, FREE!
 
yes your correct it is a British penny, oddly enough I have found 2 of them in half dollar rolls while searching coin rolls, they are almost exact size as a US half dollar
