I took my F5 out for walk Sunday morning

I haven't used my F5 since I got my F75LTD. I love my F75 LTD with DST and find it hard not to grab it when I get to get out, but this go around I planned ahead Saturday night and unpacked my F5 and got it ready to grab and go Sunday morning.

I put the 11" Triangulated coil on it. You know, the tear drop coil that comes stock on the F44? That coil. That is a very nice coil. Like all larger coils it can suffer a bit when the trash content gets a little high but when you can use it, it does very well. Size wise, that coil is 11" long and 6-1/4" wide at the base.

I was running the Sensitivity on 85 with the Threshold on +6 and I must say I had forgotten how much I liked this detector. It ran smooth at this turf site I had it on with the 11" teardrop. Ground was milder than most, only 3 bar dirt. Balanced below 80. Nothing fancy to show or tell about. Just a nice time out with on old friend.

Later on in the morning I moved to a high EMI site. Had to run it at 55 gain and -8 threshold setting to keep it stable. All that really means is the 11" teardrop acts like a large coil acts in high EMI. Translation....its a big coil.

Anyway...had fun, added some clad to the battery fund and got to stroll about with an old favorite and thought I'd do a shout out.

I'd like to have the 11" triangulated coil tuned for the F75. I use it sometimes on the F75 and can't help but wonder how it would perform if it was tuned to it.
