A couple miles up the road from here there's a string of old mines. The road's closed till spring, dang, it was open last time I was up this way. Since I can't get in there till April or May unless I hike, here's some pics to tide us over.

First pic was taken ca 1900, it's one of the mines up this draw. Next is ca 1975, the hoistframe is still standling. The newest were shot in 2000. I think vandals tore down the building that stood over the boiler, the hoist is gone with open shaft and things are slowly falling down.

The shaft opening has been lightened in photoshop so you can see it better.

A friend found a mercury dime up here, there's a party spot below where I've found clad amongst the residue. I've hunted this place on and off over the years. All I've found that's old has been nails and trash, I'm hoping to do better here with the T2.
