Mud is having so much fun out there early in the morning on the beach I thought I would try it. It wasn't fun and this is the last time...I walked and walked and listened to noise galore. This was a 3 + hour hunt. Sens@99, Thresh@3, AT mode. Hunted this way for about an hour and it got to me. Sens@55, Thresh@-6, AT mode nice and quiet. Dug all kinds of signals. I am going to stay in bed until the liquor store opens from now on. I think I would rather have the kids beat me up and give me their lunch money just to see me bleed, instead of getting up early to go down to the beach detecting. Thanks for looking ....Z

'cept I got 4 quarters! Yes..some mornings...there was a lot of late night shenanigans, but no good drops...I did get enough emptys to help defray the cost of a sixpack...and oh, I HATE beach hunting! As you know, its really sparse compared to totlots and parks as far as targets go, but those damn big gold chains keep getting me up in the morning!

This should take your mind off those gold chains and keep you in bed....Z

I still maintain, a good outing of detecting is better then laying in bed waiting for the liquor store to open. Unless, of course, if one might be 117.:rofl:HH jim tn

Thats so funny! It would look real good on an obituary! " His hobbies included looking for pennies, getting robbed by punks, and laying around in bed waiting for the liquor store to open". Zeek, you never let us down! Theres a big gold something out there with your name on it right now!

Hay guy thanks. Sometime ago I realized I am on my wind down time in my life. I don't have time to sit around and wish that I would of done? should of done? It's gone. The only time I have is now and the only thing is to enjoy it while I am still here. My grandfather and my dad died at 76. My bother is 75 and is in very poor health.
I am not saving my energy to keep my good health. Every night I go to bed exhausted saying it was smashing good day. That attitude came form metal detecting. I love the hunt. That attitude is moving into all parts of my life and making a big difference in how I spend my day. My old friend use to say, "It is your day and you can spend it the way you want to." It took me years to understand what he was telling me. He lived to be 96. Chewed tobacco for 90 years, drank hard stuff, liked the ladies and never heard of a vitamin. Ate white bread, bacon, coffee and eggs almost everyday of his life. Lived through WW1. Enough sorry for going off.
Jim I wasn't born yesterday and I am wondering what the heck are you doing out in the woods, way back in the woods, much farther than the revenuers go back into the woods. What have you got brewing back there in the hills???? Just wondering???
Thanks for reading hunt with care need you back again tomorrow......Z

Hey Z, if your buddy had eschewed the wicked pleasures and vices that made his life a wreck, he would surely have died at 96 in much better health.
I know it just as sure as my name was on the tip on my tongue just a minute ago.

Don't worry Jim mums the word.
Tom that reminds me of another friend. This guy lived, ate, breathed health. He ate only the healthy organic things. He jogged almost ever day. Drank all the healthy drinks with all the vitamins. Never smoked and alcohol never touched his lips. He would always give me lectures about my drinking, eating, cigar smoking and my unhealthy sleep habits. One day I came home and my wife told me my friends dad called and said Paul was dead at age 31. I said what the heck happened. He was hit by a car. So I think I would rather live a risky life to 96 than die at a for sure healthy old age of 31. My 96 year old friend crammed a lot of living into his 96 years and my friend Paul crammed a lot of limitations into his 31 years.
Thanks guys enjoy and when anyone asked you "How are you?" Tell them "I am perfect: breathing and vertical." I never fail to get a surprised look. .....Z

I had the pleasure of talking to Zeeks not long ago and
all I can say is .....he's one heck of a nice guy!

No matter how long he wishes to stay in bed!
