What kind of battery life are you guy's getting with your Explorer SE .Also is the depth you are getting worth the cost. I heard some say there getting quarter's from 13'' 14'' inches down.I have a chance to get one and want to know what to expect. Thank guy's......... Hobby

IMO, you can't go wrong with an SE. I've owned 3 of them and everyone was exactly the same as the other.
Prepare yourself for somewhat of a steep learning curve but I promise, patience will pay off. With all the info on site and other places, you'll learn the SE's secrets in no time flat.
Also, do yourself a favor and purchase the SunRay X1 probe; you'll be glad you did. And, be ready to want more coils! :)

Good luck!

Thank's GRB can tell me if the sove-GT coil's will work on the SE. I was also told the SE battery's last longer then the EX-2 ?

Hello,
I'm certainly not the one to ask regarding the GT as I've never owned one; yet! :)
But, I sort of doubt it. I do believe all the Explorer-Quattro coils are interchangable but again, don't quote me on that as being fact.
You'd best call a dealer to be certain.

My SE, useing the 1600 (the greater the number, the longer they should last) battery last longer than I care to dig. My normal day of detecting is 5 hours and the battery indicator usually shows 3/4 use left upon turning the machine off. Now, on a cold day it will drain your battery faster. I keep my alkaline pack as backup and have not had to use it but once; on a day below 30 degrees.

Good swinging!

I'm not sure what the manual says but it seems that my battery life is excellent. The thing just keeps going!

As far as learning the machine, you have to be patient. The SE "sees" everything. I admit that there were times I thought about selling it. The amount of feedback can seem overwhelming. I kept going back to discriminating out a lot of it so I could try to make sense of things. Just recently, I started running in All Metal again and I've learned to listen. I've gone back to spots I had run with discrimination on and have pulled coins out in All Metal. I know that's the way to go. It just took me awhile to hear the good stuff through it all.

Be prepared to take your time and be patient with it.

Well this guy want's $600 fore his SE .I was told he like's the white's and just got the SE to try it out fore a while . I tryed to test it today but need to read the manual to figure it out .I guess it sound's like a good deal I'll get it tomorrow ....Thank's fore your input .....Hobby:thumbup:
