would tackle this one since I'm considered too biased 
Both are great units in their own right so it's hard for me to knock one down becuse I own both.....
But I can say that depth is close/similar. The Edge is "faster" responce, meaning better in trash & lighter in weight. I like the Edge's easier push button ground balance too & some hate the touch pads but my alanalog CZ's knobs always get moved around. Perhaps the CZ-5 is more rugged & a better beach machine? Can't really think of much else off hand.....maybe try before ya buy?
