ID Edge finds

Found the bracelet in the ocean this afternoon with the Orca then hopped off I-95 to hunt an old park that's produced some silver. I lowered the SENS to 1 on the Edge and hunted along a chain link fence in the 'Old Coin' mode. The 61' Republica de Panama UN CENTESIMO read solid +22 and was 18" way from the the fence, then several minutes later I got a solid +36 and found the 71' Ike dollar 10" away from the fence. The dollar coin is my first and it's the year I graduated HS. Both coins were just under the surface. I've hunted this park before with an MXT and CZ70 and hadn't been able to get that close to the fence, but I may not have had the Gain and Sens turn down before. The Panamanian coin also as the letters U R R A C A on the face. Looks like a Peace Dove on the ring. The wheatie is a 54'.
I like a firmer grip and will change that. Looking good so far. HH Gary

Tony,
I'm using the 8" it came with. Didn't know till tonight that Fisher makes a 10" for it.
Here's a pic of a grip modification I made on the Edge today. I use motorcycle grips on my water detectors to slow fatigue (no waste of energy). The pic of the second grip is my favorite for the water but the one I used on the Edge feels really good. If you've never tried a grip like this you should, I think you'll be surprised. It's like a car's steering system. A soft floating ride vs quick responsive handling.

* that's the sound of me counting up all my old clad finds so I can buy a NEW EDGE!... Thanks for the great report! :)

I forgot to say if you do use a grip like this you'll have to remove (break out)the super-glued end plug behind the arm pad. If you just want to try a firmer foam grip (which I did), coat the the shaft with a solvent like mineral spirts and it will slip over the plug (but snug) and down the shaft OK and seems to remain tight. This wouldn't work for a water detector, you would have to use two sided carpet tape on the shaft to keep the grip in place, but everything else would be the same. HH Gary
