ID help....& question

I found this bell (see photo) in the field. It is 1 5/8" in diameter. Is this some livestock decor? What would you think it made of? The photo at the lower right is a brass door knob. How would I clean up brass? I'm heading out again now...wish me luck.....Thanks Rich.........

Nice crotal bell (sleigh bell) Not sure exactly of the metal but likely something like tombac or a quality pewter.
I'm not sure if you will improve the door knob by cleaning as most of the gilt has worn off.

I soaked in Sno-Bol toilet bowl cleaner for about 1 1/2 hrs. Came out looking great. EZ-Does-It

Looks great!
Lemon juice will be plenty enough to clean his not having so much crud. Harsh chemicals will eat right down to the brass. All depends how the item was made and what you want.

NO I don't keep too much as at age 73 I cannot take it with me and after I am gone the kids might argue over stuff or through it away or dump it for cash, so why not me. If you don't take the time to sell on ebay you won't get much in a garage sale for most of it. After you find something that you can display for 20 years it gets old to look at. If it's to small to display you stick it in a drawer and there it stays. If I wasn't moving I wouldn't have found the CSA belt plate in my junk can and it would have been thrown out. So sell it and buy something you want. I will be selling more when it turns cold and I need something to do besides making "EZ-Dig-R"'s. Know anybody that wants to pay alot of money for a civil war MASS. VOLUNTEER MALITIA button that I found earlier this year. EZ-Does-It
