What do you think this 14k gold ring ID's both on the ground and in the air with the F75?
You'll be surprised at the answer.

Looks pretty thin... how about 17?

The ring is basically none detectable in air test and laying on top of the ground. I can on occasion get a low volume beep that will sometimes register from 7-9 on my VDI.

thanks for the info......Dan

what about tone, what tone(s) were you using? That 10k gold 1940 class ring I got a week or so ago with 1/3 or so of the band broken off was bouncing from the 60's to the 70's and gave a mid and high tone mix in 3h tones. It, however, was all of 7" deep. Just curious. HH jim tn

I had found a similar, maybe smaller 14k ring a couple of seasons ago that was bent and had a broken band ... does not seem to be where I thought it was. Was going to try it with the LTD and see what it IDs and sounds like but need to find the ring first. I found that one with the Tejon and it came through low end of foil like about half a gum wrapper balled up would sound. Nice sound and tight pinpoint pattern so I dug it. Was just over two inches down. I took a bag full of dirt home hoping to find the stone, but no go on the stone. If I find it, I'll post what LTD does with it.

Wondering if you found it cut or found it and then cut it to test it? If former, what did it read prior to cutting?

I had to cut the ring off of my wifes finger.
I was using 4F and the ring would only give a very low volume iron sound.

I have another ring just like this I found last year. It ID's 23 on my F75.

Thanks for the updated info Mark.

A 23 is a must dig for me on the LTD.

That low tone grunt, that I pretty much don't dig with the F75LTD or with the CZ's, may be the stuff I still dig with the Tejon or Cibola set between iron and foil on the discriminator. My gold production has been better with the Tejon and Cibola and it may be entirely because of the difference in what lower conductivity levels get dug when I hunt the way I hunt with the different detectors.
