While hunting a park that hasn't been MD'd in almost 20 years and has a high traffic flow each weekend, would you use a 12.5 coil to search deep or a regular 8? Ground is hard packed & the ground composition is very agreeable to MD's.

Use the 8" to get the shallow items/take out all the trash you can tolerate. Go back with the large coil, when least amount of people are there. If there is evidence of water flowing in the park. Use the 8." and follow the water drainage all the way to the end.Pay particular attention around the largest trees and the curb-line
where people get in& out of vehicles.If there are nature or riding trails don"t discount them. .I read an article some years ago that has served me well and produced many suprises, scratchs & bug-bites.In a park, hunt the last places you would expect you might make finds.(What I discovered most often, the park was not always a park).Best of luck-Keep digging it's there somewhere!
