...... a 10 1/2" coil, what kind of depth could I expect in the "no disc" mode? (Given that I'm hunting wet sand saltwater beaches with medium mineralization... here on the West coast). Could this set up approach a pulse unit for depth under the same conditions?I thought it might, but I'm told by a few "anti-VLF" users that the pulse would easily be three times deeper....I'm having a hard time accpting that as the truth....or am I in denial??? Any experienced beach hunters care to help me out on this one? Thanks.

you would want to hunt in the 0 setting on disc. that way you will get the deep sound on iron. no need in digging all that iron.

well i dont know about the pulse units but i once found a quarter at about 16 inches on a beach here in texas with my cz6a and its 10.5 coil
still cant see how i herd that thing down there but it hit and said high coin the next thing i know i see chinese people looking at me haha joke but it was deep

It would probably depend on the mineralization of the beach. I have no doubt the pulse would be deeper in areas of high mineralization. On better beaches you will probably kick azz over a pulse. While they are digging all the small iron, you will be able to pass it up and spend more time digging the good stuff.
