I'm new to explorers but the only ones I've heard about are the XS which I believe was the first, The Explorer ll, & now the SE...I've never heard Of the Explorer l (one)

Are you talking about the Explorer XS?

There was the Explorer XS then the Explorer II Then the Explorer SE.

The Explorer S had less factory options and didn't last long. then about 2003 came the Explorer II and now we have the SE.

First batch of the XS came out with inferior plastic, but later plastic was changed and no problems..If you find a used XS in good shape and Sep 0 comes up on the screen you have an excellent unit....
Matter of fact many die hard explorers still use the XS....as far as the S models go many had the poor plastics and deleted options as stated in one of the posts...
