Ike and the Bat Tumbler

Wandering Yoda

New member
Cruised out Sunday for some clad digging. Got my eye on a nice Geiger 100gram silver bar, so I need to pile up some clad pronto. Anyways, off to a couple of schools to scrounge. It was a roaster of a day, 90ish with sparse cloud relief. So it was "drunken sailor grid" in the sun for a bit, then head for shade trees and the canteen:drinking: Managed over $15 before I tossed in the towel :surrender:(It was not a Cannon!) Also dug Batman's Tumbler Batmobile. A bit scarred and roughed up, and rightly so I suppose, 'cause the Joker and Mad Hatter aren't the easiest fellows to send back to Arkham Asylum!! Now the hunt is on to find his awesome Batpod Bike. Did find a '78 Eisenhower clad dollar, my first. It's the last year for Ike's as the Susan B. Anthony dollar was "rolled" out in '79. I've seen Ike dollars before but, after digging quarters and dimes, when this one came out of the dirt, I realized how huge the coin really is. It's got to be the King of Clad coins:rofl: The target ID was 90-91 on the Ike. I'll second what Jimtn said a few posts back, if your out in the heat, have a cool refreshing beverage handy:thumbup:

Piles of coins like that might just get me out of the water to do some dirt-digging...NOT, the water is cooler.
Guess it is time for you to hit the Bat Cave...it is a COOL place and the "pod" might just be there.
Just watch out for Cat Woman.

Good digs! Like the Bats and the Ike Dollar. Year, those suckers are large and fun to find. Here's to the heat! :beers: HH jim tn

Nice pile of coinage, Wandering Yoda! That was a great year for Batmobiles! I think Harley should put out a Batcycle!! Talk about air conditioning. It's been in the mid to low 90s since the holiday around here, 93 today, but I'm heading out w/ full hydration pack and a couple of cans of something cold. I just move as slow as a three-toed sloth when it gets this hot, heh. All that treasure still needs digging! Nice one on the Ike - I haven't dug one of those!

Nice finds on the Ike dollar and lots of clad. Very productive sites. I'm hitting the river early tomorrow, Lord willing.
