Rainey day today, so along with other things to do I bagged up my dry sand beach clad and headed to my credit union where the coin counter is free to members,... three month total = $154.62:beers:
Beach clad for me is most always clean and shinny, so the occasional rejects, which are few, are usually damaged or foreign coins. Only had two, a 50 cent Paise from India and a trick nick.
The Paise is made of nickel, and I most likely thought it was one when I found it and put it in my pouch. Even after getting home and totaling my take I didn't notice it and must have then thought it was a quarter and counted it as one, It is the exact size.
The nickel I threw back into the machine and it was rejected again. A closer look with glasses got the "ah ha moment". It is a real nickel, but was rejected because of weight, 5.5g compared to 5.0g of a normal nickel.
I'm going to have some fun with it, maybe a free lunch or two. GL ALL

I'll flip you for lunch,,tails or tails? :heh:

I've been working on the scenario ...since the flipper doesn't call it I'll have to get the coin in their hand without arousing suspicion.

That's cool, A 2 headed nickel and a nice clad total too.

I've got a few 2 sided half dollars from when I use to coin roll hunt.

Wow, Wonder if that is a real mint error? Could be worth more than a nickel!!!

Nope Mark, It's a novelty "Magician's Coin"..Some are made by cutting two nickels in half and then bonding the 2 heads or tails together. This one took a nickel and using a lathe, hollowed out the tale side of one and then fitted another nickel into it....that's why it has the added weight, its a whole nickel inserted into the half shell of another. You can see the rim of the cut out one in the pic.
