I got the tax refund back and I'm feeling the need to hit the button on a new detector. The problem is i own the Ace 250 and it does everything i need her to do and well.I don't know what the deal is but this baby goes deep.I picked up a Garrett pin pointer last week and the combo together is a killer on local parks. We are all ways looking around the corner for the next best thing but sometime you may have her and not know it.I've owned a Fisher 1266 and i presently own a BH Landstar .If the ace would have have been my first detector the button would have been pushed but i know better. Some times it's best to keep it in the bank .The grass isn't...well you know the story.HH

Keep the Ace 250 and save the money. I was on the same situation but I talked to an old metal detectorist and he told me that most of the machines work kind of the same way with respect to depth. So he told me to learn the Ace 250 well and to keep it. He has a fisher F5 and my Ace 250 has the same depth w ith the 9 x 12 search coil. So I am just going to buy the excelleratort coil for a little bit more depth. Take care and bye.

Maybe a sniper coil...I don't have one so that is why I tossed in the 'maybe'.
From what I have read, and you also no doubt, to hunt trashy areas and close to metal poles the sniper sounds like it is worth the cost.
I do a lot of parks also and it will be a toss up which purchase will be my next. The Pro-Pointer or the sniper.
the rain bonnet made for the Ace is a must have in my wet part of the world but maybe not where you live.

I have a 4" coil on the Landstar and that works pretty good.As for the rain coat i have one on the Ace ,it also keeps dirt and mud off the controls. You must get the GPP the thing is out of this world. The way the economy is these day leave it in the bank is good advise. HH

keep the ace and get a coil. new sniper, or a 9x12. or a new set of headphones. maybe a new sand scoop or new digger. some new kneepads or find pouch. i would suggest a new sunray but, you already have a propointer. maybe some new display cases for your good finds. or even a new tumbler.

Keep the ACE and get another coil for it. Getting a different coil for a detector is sometimes equivalent to getting a new detector, as it behaves differently. For example, if you want greater depth and coverage, get the large 9" x 12" coil. It really compliments the ACE. Most people who switch to this coil never go back to the stock coil.

Or....get the sniper, which will still get you 6" depth in good soil. Great for working along chain link fences, playground equipment and trashy areas.

The sniper coil made me a full-time Ace user. I've never seen anything like the combo=sorry for the repeat posts-but it REVOLUTIONIZED my Ace.

Deffinitely save your money if you can; the Ace is a good machine.
Besides, it's always good to have something stashed away for when you really
need it.....like repairing a broken exhause system. I just had to fork out $238
to have that done on my little car. :)-)
