I'll take one for the team - Anyone have a Kellyco coupon

After reading various recent field test reports by Bryce and others, and seeing first hand on friends ETracs how well the SEF coils are doing on the Explorer series machines (doing much better then the ProCoils which opened up a lot of sites when they first came out), I've decided to take one for the team and test out the 12x10 SEF butterfly coil on the F75 LTD in boost and cache mode. Very few distributors in the U.S. carry these aside from Kellyco (a site sponsor) so I'll be ordering one from them shortly (good thing I'm getting an income tax refund :beers:).

If anyone has a current Kellyco coupon they'd like to share please shoot me a PM :detecting:

Thanks and the 12x10 SEF coil tests will be forthcoming

Hi Brian.....looking forward to your findings ,thanks for all the info ....HH.......Dan

Nothing impressive in my opinion. Depth was not markedly improved....target seperation was actually worse on both of mine as compared to the stock DD.
Now I had one on an Se Pro and i liked it on that machine. As for the F75...it was o.k.....but did not show ma anything conclusive for me to justify it as an extra coil.

Scott thanks for chiming in  So aside from potential additional ground coverage (which might be negated by the extra weight), you saw no perceived advantage?

Was this on the F75 LTD in boost mode or the legacy F75 in DE mode? I'm wondering if it might be a better performer using the LTD boost mode?

Thanks,
Brian

That sounds about right Scott. Ive got a 10X12 I use on my Etrac and explorer SE and its better mainly because of its tighter detection field and a tad deeper also. The F75 I have already has a super tight detection field(coming off the coil I mean, its like a winshield wiper) and its an 11" coil so I saw no benefit going up 1" in coil size.

Brian,it would be fair if Kellyco would give you a discount ....if not at cost for you posting the info,if it turns out to be good on the f75ltd,......that is free world wide advertisement for them......fair is fair in my mind anyway good luck......Dan

That was on both actually. From what I saw...it was less impressive on the LTD in Boost mode. I had more problems with masking actually. Of course this is from what use I could get out of them here in Az. Other soils may respond differently although I doubt the target masking would change.....depth may be different though.
It is not a bad coil mind you...works just fine...I jst did not any advantage whatsoever over the 11"DD.
When i get back to NH this summer I may try it again although I am sold on the New GB3 for now as it tested to have the same depth as the F75 LTDboost mode........ that is the GB3 with Ohmega 11"DD on it.
But that is another story.
