im gettin ready to get back into the real world after bein off work for 2 weeks, back to work Monday....messed up my right foot first of week, gettin :thumbup:now-found a lot of modern money in the water,a few keys;no bling;though...A QUESTION:Has anybody read Wall of Silver by Richard Kellogg??He claims there is a lost silver mine up in the Keweenaw-He knew the guy that discovered it,and has been in it.He also says he is in posession of five thousand dollars in$10 GOLD coins dated 1890;which this other man hid in this mine he discovered;AND IN WHICH THERE IS STILL 25-SOME THOUSAND IN GOLD COINS HIDDEN THERE ALSO!The author claims he went into the mine with the guy that originally found it;and seen sliver ore so pure that it was dug out of the walls just like clay...I would like to send it out to Pete;maybe, then he could send it along to another on the forum that wants to read it.How about it;Pete???Ya want to read it,then pass it along to someone on the Forum??Let me know...Steve!!

Those stories are made to sell books and are very seldom fact based. They make interesting reading but are usually expanded upon with every telling/publishing. Just my humble opinion :) Steve in so az

 just kidding...missed ya Brother. Glad ya did some swinging but not glad about your foot (ya know ya gots to keep it out of yer mouth

Appreciate the offer Steve for the reading material. I doubt I will get up to the Keewanaw area anyway...unless I lose everything I have like the wife, my home, my sanity

I think I will pass of the material though I appreciate the thought. Though all that sounds good I'm pretty much giving most of my time to the church as we are moving into and cleaning up a building we have leased...a God thing for sure. Have taken on the role of Administrative Team Leader...so now with a title I have to work even harder right.

Will still get out detecting with ya whenever ya get up this way. I have the new lower stem on the way from Tesoro for the water detector. Still just a bit too hot and dry for digging much. Prepping the building has taken a lot out of this old man...trying to show the kid's how to do things hahaha. Today I took a day off from helping paint and all so I could be home with Sherry. She went into the shop to work and left me with a Honey-Do list. Thought I was taking a day off...what was I thinking

Can't wait for Labor Day weekend (Sherry and I have our 5th anniversary and were heading to Sault Ste. Marie. Maybe go to Canada with the detector and see if we can find any of them Looneys and Tooneys that Leslie keeps finding up there in Nova Scotia.

Well, better go - Sherry isn't feeling well again - wish there was something I could do for her to help her feel better.

Rest up for the work....BTW they won't have to retrain you will they

I would like to read it too! :)

You should tell Steve about the fortune that the club went out to find...that will get him excited.

OK MIKE-I will send it to ya,probably Monday, send me your addy by e-mail...OK,now I realize that this story-Like every other too-good-to -be-true treasure story is probably part fabrication, but WHO CARES???IT IS GOOD READING-NOTHING MORE...OF COURSE-ITS CONVENIENTLY REVEALED that there are;to this day, people watching it and if anybody finds it they will be done away with and they will claim it for theirs-and,its claimed its also on private land owned by some paper co.It has a nice little disclaimer about not taking this book as Gospel and go runnin off lookin for this supposed El Dorado of the U.P.SO.PLEASE: Trust me:Its just a story;lets leave it at that....

or some big digging equipment to try and find on the property the multi-millionaire used to own...wish I could remember all the details. I didn't make it to that hunt either...I miss too many cool hunts with you guys.

Wasn't like in some sand covered field or something???

But yeah that is the jist of it. They figured that a ton of money was burried, and had been covered by several feet of sand. Even deep locaters did no good.

If you are someone in posession of such knowledge, why in the world would you put it in a book? :)

whereas spending the rest of ones life chasing a dream might not bring in any money. Just a thought. Who was it - Barnum of Barnum, Bailey Circus who said "There's a sucker born every minute". or something like that and I think he felt it his job to separate a fool and his money into his pocket. Ever hear the tale of how people were enticed to see the Egress? Signs all over. No one knew what an egress looked like so they spent good money to go into the tent to see the egress. People came out and didn't tell anyone else what they saw. They were a little lighter in money when they went in and left - wiser and embarrassed.

After all an egress is merely an EXIT.

My apologies - please read the PM.
