Hi everyone:
Just got back from our families trip to Florida. We were gone for 18 days and had a great time. We pulled our trailer down and camped. 1200 miles one way. The trip down took 21 hours but on the way back we had road construction. one 11.8 mile part took 5 hours!! the total trip back took 27 hours. I think I need time off work to get rested up from vacation.
I hunted the same park I did well in past years but didnt do to good this year. Our Florida trip is the 1st detecting I do after a long winter. This last winters no detecting was extra long due to me not detecting since last Augest due to my shoulder issues. ( I think I did detect once or twice in sept and oct. ) so its been a long time I've been ready. Also right before I stopped detecting I got my new Explorer II.
Not sure if it was the new detector I havent learned or just didnt run my coil over anything good but the best I could due in Florida was 18,19,20,24,35 41,42,45, 51, 54 wheats. found $9.99 total clad. a bottle with a metal top and a large unicorn pin. Still all and all I had fun detecting even thought the find were not so good. I guess its the thrill of the hunt for me.
As a side note we stayed at Disney's campground for 4 days. they have a beach where you cant swim but people still lay around and sunbath. I started to detect the beach and there were coins everywhere!!! I thought must be no one detect here just goes to the theme parks. Well after 35 minutes a Disney worker tells me you cant do that here. I told him I was fill in all my holes and even showed him my junk I removed. He said thanks for taking the junk but its the guest stuff and should be turned in to lost and found so I turned off my detector and left. After I left I thought, I'm going to check in at the check in desk and see if the guy that said no detecting was right. They told me the same thing that its the guest stuff and should be turned in to them for lost and found. I wanted to follow the rules so I gave the guy all my pull tabs and other junk!!
Hope everyone is doing well. No way I can catch up on post just too meny to go through.
Have a Jesus filled day

sure a nice rig you have. Too bad about the off limits detefcting area. You'd think they would welcome clean up and possible return of keys & such.
You have the right attitude about detecting - it's a fun thing and massive finds are not necessasary to have fun. Some beach guys even think silver doesnt count. How stupid can one be !
Good to see ya back - we are leaving for Florida in 2 weeks, steve in so az

From the land of the Bluenose..although the hunting wasn't that good I'm sure a change of scenery was nice. next trip try coming this way! Nova Scotia loves company and have a place to park a beast of a trailer!

Wow, sounds like a great trip. Silly how they wouldn't allow you to detect. Heck, you're not bothering anyone and you're doing them a service... Oh well. Hope the guy enjoyed the bag of junk

GEE! I thought you decided to stay there! Good to have you back brother! we have a ton to catch up on!

and got to go to Florida. I'm on vacation most of the time but don't get to go anywhere!
Well, if you had turned in whatever you found how would they know who lost what? I guess the workers there would keep any money and possibly jewelry, as most people spend a night or two and then continue to some other place! Sounds like a big rip off to me!! Glad you gave them the pull tabs and trash!
That's when a secret pocket would come in handy, like some detectorists I knew used to have, and just show the junk they found whenever anyone asked!
May you have a good rest and enjoy being home and hope you get out to do a lot of detecting!
God Bless & HH!
Betty
