I'm detecting and posting too often

I had to go out today because it was so nice. One upside to hunting so much for so long is my batteries are lasting 17 hours instead of 12-14 that I had been getting. It seems that fewer hunts of longer duration are better for them than many short hunts. A touch of sunburn which is A-OK. The penny inside the 925 heart earring is 1915 and is a date I needed for my brag book. The dime next to it is my 2500th coin of 2009 found with my GTI 2500. Somehow I am not all that far ahead of last year. Was I this addicted way back then? 11 nickels 97 coins. The button stopped my heart for a second.

Positively no detecting tomorrow. Wanna bet?

If I could only get the hang of my 2500 and start finding lots of coins and jewelry I'd probably like it.

That said, I would find it extremely difficult to hunt for any length of time without imaging. I also use True All Metal more and more lately. That 1915 wheat was deeper than the hilt of my Lesche which means deeper than 7 inches. Plenty deep for my taste. The GTI nailed it and listed its depth at 6 inches, size B, low penny notch. Had a lot of other coins in the 6 inch region today.

Very nice day cwilk. Looking forward to having hauls like that.

Icredible!:thumbup:You never cease to amaze me, Chris. I love my GTI as well. It's a wonderful creation. Congrats on the 1915 Penny. Cool heart and button, too. Nice finds! Happy Hunting!

2500 coins for 2009 your really moving up fast. Congrats !!
Still frozen ground up here and no detecting yet:cry:for me.

Check your calendar, Joel. It's almost May. I think that the detecting got good about 2 weeks earlier than it did in 2008. I went crazy last May and June and got over 2000 coins in both of those months. I will probably not be able to that this year.

Chris

Thanks Chris for the encouragement.
Unfortunately It was the coldest winter and the most snow we've had in a long time.
North and South Dakota had major flooding and with the extra water moving up north to us, plus what we had up here
It's been a bad situation for major flooding problems.
On top of that its still goes below zero at nights so the grounds stays wet and frozen.
Have been out for a few hours a few days ago and it wasn't fun.

Cwilk still my hero! 2500 coins YTD!!! OMG that is so awesome. I love the nickel count, still trying to improve mine! Keep it up bud!:garrett:

Not really. I get crazy a few times a year and just hunt and hunt and hunt. Last year as I was going for my 10,000th coin I went absolutely nuts. This year I got the fever earlier. The Thursday before Easter to be exact. I am only a few coins away from 20,000 now. This week-end for sure unless I break my arm or leg.

Chris

Holy Cow!!!

Very Impressive!!

I gotta get out more...you are making me envious:surprised:

Thanks
