found this copper item at a stagestop, I put the half dollar in for size. thanks for looking HH.
 
...what does the backside of this look like? Is the metal fairly thin and stamped?
Possibly a piece of furniture decoration like a drawer pull or a lock plate?

it is very thin and stamped, those cutouts on the center are what puzzles me,I will put a close up of the cutouts tonight,the existing picture does not show very well. I appreciate you looking. I've put this on many other site in the past with no luck on identification.lol
 
here is a closer look at the cutouts. as you can see one is broken off.
