In forum punch ups!

As a mere UK dude who visits this forum now and then , i had a vision that it was a more Easy going atmosphere about it, and unlike the waring Celtic punch ups that frequent some of the British Metal detecting forums.
I think i`m beginning to have alter my Opinion as late, with what i`m reading on here. I`m actually quite shocked at some of the posts that have been appearing lately .
I`m not siding or putting the blame on any one, but I`m gob smacked at the recent falling outs.
Forgive me but i thought we were all drinking out the same cup on here ? obviously there are major differences in opinion to the degree of cutting short of calling some people a liar . Can i finally just remind folks, its ONLY A HOBBY after all. Would it be possible do you think, to get back to "normal" if possible without the back biting as late .

You said it . . . I think. I had to get out my British to English translation guide for some of that. :ukflag: <> :usaflag: :punch:

It's good to have differences of opinion and open discussion. Sadly, some folks who are wonderfully passionate about this pursuit type the occasional "poke-you-in-the-eye" post that causes unrest among the inmates here. Sometimes unknowingly, sometimes not. There are a lot of visual clues and tone inflections in communication that don't work in typed forums, and some points are missed entirely.

Remember the F-75 forum is like a family and you can't pick your relatives. It's good when we get along and the best policy when we don't is to acknowledge strongly held differences of opinion may not change and just move on.
