In the Heat of the Day, between the raindrops

Was humid as all get out today, but I braved the elements for an hour to hunt a new playground (Well, one I have not hit in about a year)...Porter School in Syracuse, NY. They closed the school down about 5 years ago, but kids and others still frequent the playground....I pulled out $1.17 in clad and a few baubles...And tons of Screw Caps. Again I was hunting with the White's (Sorry Folks, but I kinda like the machine)

Bhlandstar, no need in saying your sorry for swinging any kind of machine. What works for you is what is important. If I could, I would own one of each model from each company, but $ wont allow it. Keep posting as far as I:thumbup:'m conserned no matter what you used to find it with.

Hi rickym...No, the Land Star is stock...It is all surface mount parts mostly, and I would not want to try to mod it...no real need...The machine hunts fine as is...I would like to have a numeric target ID on it though...wonder if that is a possible mod???

Yes it is a good machine. I swung mine at the gom beach Sunday for a few hours about 50 miles away near Panama City. I did get over the wet sand with no problems found alot of lead fishing weights, 2 dimes ,a silver ring and a tag from a cremation. The scary part it was from my home town go figure.

Hey rickym, it is good to hear someone tried the Landstar at the beach. You said it didn't have any problems over the wet sand? Thats cool to hear. How did it do on depth? Was it close to hunting on dry land? Sorry so many ? but I too swing a Landstar and am curious how they will act at a ocean beach in case I ever get to one. Heck, I've never even seen an ocean yet but you never know about the future. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey BHLANDSTAR, Didn't me to get way off the post, sorry. Just saw the post on the Landstar at the beach and got courious. Have you had yours at the ocean beach yet?? Heck, has anyone had it at the beach?? Just looking to gather more information. Thanks

Nope...Have not had it to the salt water beach yet....Have had it on freshwater beaches, and it performs great...just a little loss on depth maybe (1 inch or so)...I really do want to hit a salt water beach...But have no plans to travel any time soon....

Hey pack rat the deepest in the wet sand was about 4 inches on the lead weights at 1 o'clock on disc and 3 o'clock on sens with auto notch. maybe I would have gotton deeper finds , had to get home and do my honey do's:rolleyes:

Understand fully. Has been over a month now with no swinging!:thumbdown:So much to do hard to find time. I'm going to try to get some in this weekend even if it is at a local park or school. Told the wife I was suffering from withdrawls and she always tells me to go but I feel guilty when there is so much to get done. Maybe I'll get up before the roosters and get to swinging.:detecting:

Hi ricky...If your DISC is set at 1 o'clock, your missing a LOT of good targets...your not gonna dig any pull tabs or screw caps, but your also missing any GOLD that may be in the sand, and the SAND is where the GOLD is at.....just thought you would want to know...Do not turn your DISC above 9 o'clock if you want the good stuff...
at 1 o'clock your probably even missing out on dimes....
