Infinium or excal 2 for lake ontario area

Hello folks..Im wanting to get into water hunting after many years of being land based only.Ive always used garret or minelabs.I was wondering which machine would be best for fresh water and which will get me the deepest and best results for jewlery/coins.All comments would be appreciated ..Thx

All depends on your budget. I would include the Dual Field in your list of potentials. I have an excal, dual field, as well as 4 other water machines and nothing I have or have owned will touch the depth of the dual field. Ths coil does float on the White's but I dont mind because of the finds I am making with this machine. I hunt on Lake Erie, also fresh water. I am beginning to distinguish bobby pins and larger iron from coins and deep jewelry. I've only had the dual field for a couple of weeks and I figure by next summer I will have a very good handle on it. I got a teriffic deal from a Findmall sponsor, Don Dodson, North Georgia Relics.

The dual field is water proof??Im after water Hunting...Or i would just use my E-Trac.

Yes the Dual Field is a waterproof PI machine from White's. Any idea how trashy the areas are that you intend to hunt?

Well from what ive seen of the lake ,,Its trashy..I was just worried about The best depth...And also some folks posted that the infinium is more sens to deeper or smaller gold.Anything behind that?

If you can get one, think about a Tesoro Tiger Shark for fresh water. I'm hoping Grumpyolman chimes on this one too.

The new White's PI Dual Field. It's newer than the surf PI Pro. The Tiger Shark is nice but cant compete on depth with the White's Dual Field

I have both and the excal is far more enjoyable to work with, yes the dual goes deeper and is great in certan situations but the excal set on full worked very slow will produce very deep objects, and will help you from becoming discouraged in a trashy area, it also is not affected by wave action and is a formitable dry sand unit, i often find in the dry and shore with this unit and do not need to go back to the car to swap up, as close to all purpose as i have found, i am on my 105 th ring this year thanks to the excal. If you love to dig then by all means take the pulse.

Yes Infinium will punch deeper on small deep gold as it was designed for prospecting.
