have a chance to trade for a old master hunterDS has a meter and a speaker on top comes with a 2boxer and what looks to be a 12" or so white coil.no manual so need to know if its a goodie.its been on a shelf since new in a hard case-any ideas

Hi Woodwizard, Dean here, if you are talking about the Master Hunter ADS 7, it is a grate detector. I just got one with three coils. You can down load the manual from Garrett's site. It takes a little work to get to know it but it will get coins that others mist.

Although I've never owned one, I can say that these are great machines. I remember trying out one that a buddy owned back in the eighties and it does go deep, has good discrimination and handles hot ground(mineralization) pretty well. Also, my buddy found a bunch of goodies with it. Relics, silver coins, jewelry, etc. This machine is the grandfather of modern day CX Plus. Still a good machine, regardless of age.

Here is a link to what I believe to be the owners manual:

Here is a link to the field test from Lost Treasure magazine in 1985:

I hope this helps you out. You can also use the search tool on this forum to find lots of good info. Best of luck to ya'. Happy Hunting!:)
