I used to live in a house which had possums in the roof. At night they would drive me nuts running back and forward in the ceiling area. I had a brain wave, I drilled a small hole in the ceiling and poked a thin piece of bamboo, pencil lead thin, in the hole letting about 8 inches poke through the other side. The possums curiosity got to them and they would scurry over to it as I moved it about and bite on it. I did this each night for three days letting them chew it to bits, but on the fourth night I coated the bamboo in butter and dipped it in "ultra hot" chili powder.
I poked it through the hole, moved it about, over came the possums , they chewed, then silence for a few seconds, then BAM , they became the fastest moving possums in Australia. Never bothered me again after that for the last year I lived there.:)

...they claim it works on deer. Try spreading hair clippings around your garden. I have planted a garden this year and will be trying this too to see if it works. We have coons and squirrels to with also, especially when the corn starts producing. I tied aluminum pie pans to the tomato cages to scare the birds away but the other day I saw a couple of wrens sitting on the cages while the wind banged them against the cages!!

The wrens were swinging in the breeze! Never heard of the hair clippings trick to keep critters out, but it might be worth trying just to keep them from eating all the plants and food! Remember the movie, "The Yearling" ? The little boy had a pet deer that even slept in his bed. His parents had put out a garden and corn patch with a rail fence around it, but the deer kept jumping over the rails and eating up their food! Since they were way out in the wilderness that wasn't a good thing and they were poor anyway, so the little boy had a hard and sad time with his pet deer!

Hope all are well and Brian is improving daily!

God Bless!
