I am presently using the X-Terra 705 and although I really like the machine, I am interested in upgrading. My main interest is in a machine that can differentiate between ferrous and non-ferrous metals. My research indicates that the SE Pro has this capability. Any feedback from Explorer SE Pro owners would be appreciated.

I upgraded from the Quattro a few years back and have done much better with the explorer. Minelabs have a technology of their own, and once you use one, the learning curve to the next isn't too bad. As for differing from ferrous and non signals....Well you will still dig a deep nail quite often fishing for nice deep high tones.
