Hi Guys,
I went back to the place that had been producing silver with the intention of digging everything. That lasted about a half hour. I did find a silver nickle and 1 wheat that I wouldn't have found the way I normally hunt. But I had about 15 holes in a 3' square and lost patience. I usually only did light coin sounds so my compromise was to also dig the loud coin signals. Very few of the loud sounds were coins, most were screw caps. I did that for about 5 hours. In the 1st 5 hours I found 5 more silver for a total of 6. 2 different holes about a foot a part each had 2 silver Washington's and 1 Clad Quarter. Each hole also had several bottle caps and pull tabs in them. Each signal was very light and iffy, but it sounded like there was silver in there somewhere. Also found a silver Rosie. I found about 30 coins in the 1st 5 hours plus about 60 pieces of junk.
I took a break and went back out for 4 more hours, but this time I only dug the weak hits. I found 1 more Rosie and was ready to hit area 2, but when I looked up a couple had spread their blanket right in the middle of area 2. The whole area is probably at least 3000' by 300' and the only people in that whole area are in the 50' by 100' section that I wanted to hunt. So I hit area 3. I passed thru last time I was there and didn't find a thing.. It's only 30' by 50'. This time there were 1 more Wash and 5 Mercs for a grand total of 13 silver for today. Total of 32 silver found in the past 3 visits. All in junk and all with the Sunray 8" coil.
I know the bubble will burst, but it has been fun popping all that silver out of an area that has been pounded.
