Went to an old football field yesterday and today for a couple of hours with the Explorer II. The field is very old and I expect it to give up some silver soon. I found lots of clad $10+ and this ring. It appears that it may be homemade. I have never seen one like it but I never took welding or metal shop. If anyone has any info about possible time frame or anything please comment.

pretty cool maybe they made it in shop class at school <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">

Neat find!. I agree, it looks like a silver coin was used......Aaron

Thanks for the confirmation Brian, that's exactly what I thought too. Unfortunately the only way to check it out fully would be to tear it up. Whoever made it must have been a beginner because the back is filled in with solder or something.
