Internet Credit Card Fraud!!

Seems that you need to manage your cookies and the internet a bit better then you think.....
A brief bit of information then the bad news and the good news
I have a credit/debit card on a 2nd Bank Account that I use mainly to pay a couple bills like Direct TV and the Local Pay Tolls that have a prepay system and these two charges are never done on the internet.....
BAD NEWS: I made one internet transaction using this credit/debit card with a company to buy some software at $29.95 and we was both suppose to be using secure pages to do this late in the evening on Wednesday 11/22/00 (Thanksgiving 11/23/00) and on friday I went to the bank to make a deposit on my 1st Main Account and to verify that the money was there on the 2nd Account to pay the charge.....
I never personally visited these two web sites but I did find that they tried to charge to my credit/debit card.....
WWW BONZI COM tried to charge to my card $40.00
WWW KEEN COM tried to charge $250.00 & $150.00 & $70.00 for a total of $470.00 (all 3 was in the same morning).....
These charges showed up on Friday 11/24/00 in the morning as pending approval.....
GOOD NEWS: I went straight into the bank and had them cancel my credit/debit card before they could be approved.....
My 2nd Bank Account balance is now back to where it was suppose to be.....
My personal banker is now a better friend then before (He is also helping me get internet access to the banks computers to be able to monitor my accounts from home now)
Conclusion: Be very very carefull when you shop the internet cause by the time I would have seen a normal regular credit card bill the transactions would have been posted and I would have a fight trying to charge back and possibly been liable for a $50.00 incident fee or a $500.00 incident fee which depends on when the incident happened and was fineally reported.....

Hi John
I am currently consider to buy such a software on the web, and the price is exactly $29.95. Could you please tell me the name of the software you tried to purchase. Thanks a lot.. good info.
Mark

The software was a registration code for Spamkiller, a internet spam fighting software, they dont seem to be the problem as they charged me the $29.95 as advertised, the problem came from 2 other internet sites that I never visited, which was the BONZI and KEEN com sites....
