Any preferences to which mode for a particular site, ie beach hunting, park hunting......or do you use just one of the modes only for all your hunting?

Thanks,
Neil

All metal, ferrous, usually deep on...I don't like nulling. I'm new to the SE & still trying to hone my skills with the tones. I find that the more I use it the more I like it...I've only been at it a couple months but am already pretty comfortable with it..HH..TT

thanks tomtowns. Ive had my EXII a while but am really just getting the bulk of time in on it. Its coming around for me, still trial and error.
I should have posted on the Explorer classroom.
Thanks again,
Neil

Neil,
I usually run pretty wide open. I usually use a custom program with just the top left blocked out (two boxes on the x and y axis , on the smallest setting). Also I use one with the left side and bottom blocked out except where gold and some coins will hit in the center bottom. Then again at times if there is a lot of trash I will close it down so I can cherry pick some specific sounds; I will do this if my mind and ears need a little break. Finally, I usually will check things before I dig with things wide open just to hear the sounds around the chosen target. This gives me a lot of extra information of what is in the ground.
HH,mpk
