Iron mask setting?

I've had my SE for ~ a month, and love it. But I've been reading posts where many/most people set the Iron Mask at 12-16. I do like running in that mode, but I have set the IM at 20, figuring that most of the iron will be left out. (For those unfamiliar...IM at 31 is essentially 'all-metal', I think.)
If I do set the IM at, say, 15, do I risk missing some good targets? I'm interested mainly in coins/jewelry.

I don't know a lot about the explorer, but the exol 2 on goes to -16 and I thank the se go up with more no.

Hi Swingman,

Try setting the iron mast in all metal and your tones at ferrous, that way you hear everything and the SE will work much faster, check out everything on the screen that gives a high tone and ignore everything that gives a low tone unless your relic hunting.

The people useing Iron Mask 12-16 are probably useing the Ex-ll All metal on the SE is double that...32
