Iron Mask

I noticed when I entered Iron Mask mode I get a screen that uses the target icon to identify targets. I undestand this fine. But also I can switch to a screen that has a digital readout. It seems to have different readings on targets than my advanced or quick digital. Is this true? The iron mask uses only the iron setting to identify targets both in the target/smart screen and the digital screens?
