Is it time for Minelab to step up:

and acknowledge that there are obviously a few SE's out there that have had bugs. Surely by now they've had enough units returned for repair/replacement, that they have a feel for as to why some of these units are faulty. Seems like it would make sense for them to just step up and say: here's what we're seeing and here's what we want you to know as valued customers. I often hear businesses talk about their "customer service." Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I would rather receive it than hear about it any day.

Just a thought

since the X-Terras have had some significant electronic problems as well...come on...turning themselves on and off along with bad coils? The EX II hasn't had any significant general problems. I've had an X-Terra 50 and 70 and did well with them...nice light machines that go deep, lock on good targets well, but...the SE looked so much like one, I was concerned, along with any new model which can have some bugs just like a car...granted the SE does have some nice new features but I'm still the most comfortable with the EX II and fine with the pinpoint since I use the X-1...HH

with certain se's, Minelab will repair them. They had problems with certain xterra 30's and 50's and they did the repairs on them. My se is operating fine. I was having problems with a depth issue in heavy iron but found out this machine is so much more accessible to outside interference that I have to approach noise cancel in a different way. Minelab won't actually know if there are problems with a batch of se's until they make it back to Vegas for a look see on their part. I think a lot of new detectors (as far as first batch) have problems. From the Whites M6 to the T2's. Problems just don't get fixed overnight. Of course if you are one of the ones with a problem you want it fixed overnight :)

Well yesterday I had an experience that worried me a bit...I went to a park I hadn't been to before & the entire park seemrd to have a giant underground cable going through it...I couldn't get my coil within three inches of the ground & the crosshairs would start popping all over the screen along with all the different tones...I tried to lower the sensetivity & gain & combinations of both but no good...I tried turning it off & on...nothing...No nearby towers I could see either....of course when I've had that happen, even raising the coil in the air doesn't help...I packed up & went to a park about a mile away that I haven't had a problem in & everything was fine...I'm gonna have to hit that park again & see if the same thing happens....HH...TT
