is it worth the switch

I purchased a Garrett 1350 about a year ago.I found lots of newer coins and some rings, but nothing more than a few inches deep.I'm a bit disappointed because I been in some prime hunting places where I should have found older coins. Would it be worth the upgrade to an Explorer?

Once you get over the short learning curve of the explorer its the best thing youll ever put your hands on. The 8" coils really shortens the learning curve. I got alot better since i purchased one. Great depth still with the 8".

The Explorer II is certainly a good machine. I have one. I also have a CZ-70 and an Excalibur. I formerly had a Quattro and a DFX. All of these are good machines, in the right hands. And I'm really digging the Explorer II.

I only have one problem with what you said. I started out with the Garrett GTAx 750 a number of years ago. And I dug MANY targets more than a few inches deep, including Civil War bullets, buttons, and silver coins...lots of silver coins. Including Merc dimes at 6+ inches and a Walking Liberty Half at every bit of 8 inches. So I would think that the 1350 would be able to do at least as good as that. Although it's possible that the Explorer II would be a lot stronger out of the box in factory coin mode than the Garrett is. But the best performance comes when you "tweak" it. At any rate, you will almost surely do better with it and there are plenty of folks on this forum to help you.

Yep I agree. Just compare the forums here at Findmall. Look how many more finds are found with Explorers. Let the finds speak for themselves.

Thankyou everyone who answered my question. After I log out,I'm ordering one. I guess my only question now is, does anyone want to buy a Garrett 1350?
