Is the AT Max Rubber Grip available as a part yet?

Yes, but you have to buy the entire upper rod. $40 if I recall correctly. I'm thinking of doing that to my ATPro but it's $60 here in Canada.

Give Garrett a call. They may send you one? To put them on, you have to put the hand grip in hot soapy water, slide it on the rod, squeeze the remaining soapy water out of it and let it dry.

Well, I called Garrett and spoke to Mary. She confirmed Dan B's post that the AT MAX grip cannot be sold separately and will cost $40 as part of the upper assembly. Even so, that Mary has to be one of the nicest people with whom I've ever dealt. She's awesome. People must be really happy working at that company.

Maybe after the Max is out a while longer, Garrett will start sending the rubber grip, as a standard replacement part, to its dealers. As of now, it seems like a guarded selling point of the MAX.

Thanks, Mike

She explained to me that you can't slide it on, that's why it's sold on the shaft. Perhaps it's moulded onto the shaft.

The grip was one of the reasons for the delay of the Max. Those grips are pressed on by a machine.
