is the compadre coil waterproof?

I'm sure i can call tesoro but I like you guys here,,,,, Has anyone tried using a compadre in shallow freshwater, is the coil waterproof? also while on the subject I'm curious if anyone ever tried a compadre over wet "salty" sand?

Yes it is waterproof.

Unfortunately, it does not perform well in wet salt sand.

While beach mineralizations vary, the Compadre, which cannot adjust for sensitivity, gets very chatty in wet salt sand.

You can turn your disc knob up past foil. this will help. It wont take the salt effect out 100%, but it will be less annoying.

thanks for the posts, this would be mainly more for fresh water pond stuff I was just curious if anyone tried it over salty stuff but I'll use the vaq for that.
