I was wondering, having acquired a new SE just in time for cold temps, if there is a difference between accepting a discrimination setting or just leaving it blank.
For example, the factory setting is "coins" with no check mark next to that catagory in the settings. So, I'm asking if any have noticed a difference between actually selecting "coins" or leaving it blank in factory preset.
The folks at minelab pretty much told me there is a difference; namely, that selecting/rejecting target catagories help speed up recovery from the "null" one gets from a trash target.
When I want to look for deep coins in a trashy park, I've set the machine to accept (check mark next to catagory) coins, jewelry, pulltabs, screw caps and foil. I reject (x next to catagory) ferrous coins, nails and bottle caps.
So does anyone know what difference there might be between say accepting coins only, and leaving the others blank, with no check marks or x's?
