Is there any more depth with the EX II and Pro Coil over the 1050 stock?

Hello all,

I know the Pro Coil is lighter, separates better and the sensitivity can be bumped up a bit, but is there any more depth with this coil on the Explorer II over the 1050 stock coil? We're talking a 1/2" difference in coil size. Am I better off sticking with the 1050? I am digging deep with it.

Thanks

Jim

It may have been just my individual coil but my 1050 was weak in pinpoint mode on very deep targets, also the Joey was weak in pinpoint, This is somewhat important on the older Explorers with the old style weaker pinpoint mode. The Pro coil found me more stuff in all of my previously hunted areas.. Not necessarily deeper but coins next to junk.. wildherre

depth using the pro coil over the 1050 coil.

I do however feel I was able to pull more stuff out of sites previously hunted with the 1050 coil when using the pro coil... because it separated much better for me.

For me...at my sites...with my ears...here in my IL soil..the 10 x 12 SEF coil beats both the pro coil and 1050 coil hands down for finding deep silver and injuns' on edge...next to trash...and in with iron.

It is also more stable for me...and ID's coins at depth better for me.

Don't get me wrong...I love the pro coil. I just love the 10 x 12 SEF coil more.:)

To provide you with another answer to your question...no..like wildherre...I don't think the pro coil is any deeper than the 1050....but I DO FEEL you would find some stuff with it that the 1050 coil didn't see because of the better separation qualities the pro coil possesses. The pro coil is definitely a step up from the 1050 coil IMHO.
