Is there REALLY more depth in Relic than C&J on the MXT Pro?

I've heard MANY say yes and MANY say no to the above question. Is there any definitive evidence or data backing up the "DEEPER in Relic Mode" claim? What are your experiences? :pulltab:

I fell like the relic mode is deeper and it seems to be that was in my test garden. I can here the threshold brek up on a 12 inch silver any day in rlice but like today after last nights rain I can hear it on both. but if its dry I cant hear it in Cand J. Just my experince. I run the gain on full blast with a sef coil. Lee

Oh yeah my ground is a pretty bad type.

I run relic alot and when i find a target i flip to C&J, but have never fround anything in relic that c&j can,t pick up also.

[size=large]there ya go. another definite maybe answer. i'm gittin the idea that most of us are so into our hunting and digging we forget to take notice of the readings and fail to do our own research. like switch from c&j to relic and test things ourselves.
i for one do run in relic and switch to c&j but only to delete maybe targets or trying to confirm targets. been trying to remember but get into the hunt & dig and forget. doing better but not finding any deep targets to practice with. and that is the important part. finding deep targets. 5-6" is not deep to the mxt in either mode so they don't count.
on a differant note, my hunting partner and i have noticed how the vdi numbers are changing as the ground dries up. after a little rain they started back to their correct numbers. the dryer it got the higher the number for coins. we started finding pennies coming up as dimes and qtrs. some qtrs. came up in higher 80's numbers also.
will be looking to solve the relic question myself. will let you know what i find unless you solve it first.

I too hunt in relic and switch to c and j to double check and find that a clear signal in relic on a good target will sometimes be a broken up signal in c and j.

Thanks guy's! Looks like I'll be swingin' in Relic this fall! :pulltab:

G Day folks, in the Relic mode (default setting on the PRO) and the trigger in the centre position on the MXT/MXT 300 model you can run the gain up higher
before the threshold becomes unstable because it has a lower S.A.T speed and in C&J mode/s the S.A.T speed is faste which in some areas and conditions
give you cause to turn down the gain, so remember the slower S.A.T speed is only in the default or centre position

hope this helps
