is this new detector for real???

type in 'fox gold detectors and tell me what you think of this new technology.if its for real im going prospecting full time!!

I waded thru their web site and thought their detectors were quite interesting. I'll be calling them tomorrow and try for a hands on demo Friday at their office in Los Angeles. A working hand held GPR with the vocal audio for target info. sounds a little too good to be true. But we'll see.---Rick

There very fact that you don't see a real picture, just a cheezy computer graphics drawing makes me skeptical of the whole thing. Let us know if you actually get to see one work.

Another noisy junk side !
I wonder if it also can tell you the colour of the metal as it speaks so well and laut that it must have a volume control.
I am considering to make a little robot in nano technology that will crawl around under the surface and send you 3D live video on UHF channel 23 in SECAM, PAL or NTSC and of course the needed volume control. Price will be $1999.- each. No Radar waves, no dangers!. Let me know who is interestet before I make a homepage about it.

Why can this be a legitimate device?
Don't put it past that this detector is cracked up to be what it says it is. The technology is not as "far fetched" as one may think. It is actually very common technolgy. I even have an electronic multi meter that talks and have had so for 12 years. It talks out voltage and ohmage and current and it also tells me the value is with the decimal point.
I reckon that it can and will do what it says. It is a weight simple scale that talks and anylyses.
If you have a personal computer in front of you then why "ridcule the possibilty". Nothing that this detector does is new or "alien" technology.
How accurately it does all that it says is another matter.
It is not an "out in the field" detector, yet, that one uses for "hunting and finding "booty" and can only anylyse at a very close and limited proximity.
I hope that "nano" tech detector that will be made has and onboard digital clock....with date read out.

Sorry,My apolagies. I looked further down the page of "that web site"
I just saw the "in the field" version of that metal detector.
What a load of BULL#####!!!!!

I'm designing a boat tow metal detector which will handle up to 3 towed coils. When powered up, it will determine which channel has a coil connected. It will have a 2X24 line LCD screen which will display the status of the coils on the top row and display hits on the second row. It will have a "menu" pushbutton along with "increment" and "decrement" buttons so you can change the pitch of the indicator tone, the pulse delay value, and the threshold value. Once you get it set the way you want, you just hit the menu button to go back to the next menu option or you hit select to go back to detect mode. It will store these settings in EEPROM so it remembers your settings even after the unit has been powered off. It will run on 24 volts so you can get the extra depth. If you change the threshold, it will calculate the new threshold values and continue detecting once set. If you change the pulse delay value, it will autozero automatically and go back into detect mode. It also has a 12 channel GPS receiver built into it. It has an LED which begins to flash to show you that the GPS has a satellite lock. Oh, and did I say it includes an antenna for it as well. It has an RS-232 port so that you can log the hits to a PC or laptop. The data that is output the port is: which coil had the hit, what the maximum voltage (0-5 volts) it saw during the detect period(hit strength), the time, date, latitude, longitude, speed, and course. Its built into a waterproof case in case you accidentally drop it into the water and has a built in 22 watt audio amplifier to make sure you can hear it over the boat motor. Last but not least, you can put an altimeter on the tow fish where the LCD will display how high off the bottom its flying and allow you to set an alarm that will buzz you if it gets down too close to the bottom. Anyone interested in one of these?

P.S. Dave, did you really say "ohmage"?

An alternate site is PT Barnum detectors.com
It uses an exciting sucker technology that whiskes treasure to the surface-no digging!

That is supposed to be a mining detector??
It couldn't carry the powersource capable for the wattage needed.
And no specifics.
Looks like a third grader's rendition of my electric shaver.HAHA
