there is a Latin inscription inside the band "Quid Dixit Facita:..should know what it means... I learned Latin in Grammar School singing in the school choir every Sunday, but alas, ...I have forgotten most of it.

Found in wet sand about 8 " deep

Hey Steve,

You ever detect in 28* weather with that fresh, invigorating wind flying in your face? It's quite an experience...I love the cold weather .

Next winter, put on a parka and some gloves.... and head for Ct. I"ll show you where the gold is hidden..while the ice is forming on the water:rofl:

put on a jacket - dont own a coat - just to read your post :) I do know that if I had access to a beach not too far away I would be there year round. Here in Tucson it gets down to 29 or so about 1 or 2 nights per winter but only briefly as the temp goes back up with the sunrise. So the plants don't freeze too much as it's not a long freeze.
At least you are not whining about the cold like "others" on certain forums :) Steve

I think I want to come up and hunt that old beach! :) Congrats on two nice finds today!!! :)

You got that right, Paul ! :detecting:

C'mon up, Mike ...and bring a friend or two...we'll clean out all these beaches up here .."there's enough for everyone":super:, I always say.

I think Arizona is a beautiful state.

I love to look at pictures of the landscapes there.

I posted these pics and a few additional ones on the "other forum"

I will be there by morning! :) You don't have to twist my arm! I sure would like to do a trip there this year if at all possible. I have never detected on the ocean, and like that you are finding the old stuff too! :)

I seriously doubt that, Warthog.

You guys are the professionals..

I just get lucky sometimes

I checked the translation out...I'm sure it means " You say, I do.." or "what you say , I will do"

this is why I think it is a ring from a Priest's Ordination, or from a nun's final vows.

Am still in the process of verifying this
