It was a Great Year...

Looks like mother nature will stop me from detecting in the Chicago area for a while... so here's my recap for 2004. Note that I've only had my EX2 for two months, so most of these were found with another detector.
It was a GREAT year. Even with the EX2, it will be difficult to beat 2004. Personal highlights: My most fat Indians, most Seated Liberty coins(13), most half dimes, most Shield nickels, first 3-cent piece (1852), broke the 1800 barrier with my first two Spanish silver (178_ half real, 1797 2 reales) and found my first pre-1900 Canada silver (1886 dime).
Large cents: 28 (still amazes me for this area!)
Flying Eagle: 1
Fat Indians: 6
Indians: 71
2-Cent Piece: 1
Silver 3-Cent Piece: 1 (my first)
Seated Liberty Half Dimes: 4 (including my rarest coin to date, 1838-O no stars)
Shield Nickels: 6
V-Nickels: 12
Buffalo Nickels: 15
War Nickels: 2
Seated Liberty Dimes: 9
Barber Dimes: 16
Merc Dimes: 34
Roos. Dimes: 6
Barber Quarters: 12
Std. Lib. Quarters: 4
Wash. Quarters: 12
Barber Halves: 1
Walker Halves: 1
Spanish 1/2 Real: 1
Spanish 2 Reales: 1
Other foreign silver: 2
Total Silver: 106
Other Foreign: 8
Tokens: 14
Total Significant Coins: 268 (excludes wheats, clad, memorials, other Jefferson nickels)
2003: 102 silver, 265 significant coins
2002: 107 silver, 238 significant coins
Time for doing some research, cleaning/repairing equipment and dreaming about hunts to come!
Happy New Year!
Mike

Mike what part of Chicagoland are you in? I am in Palos Hills.

Mike what kinds of places do you prefer to hunt? i.e. parks, schools, etc...
Nice totals. Did the reales come from the Chicago area?
Thanks,
Bob

How does the Explorer compare to the prior detector?
HH,
Glenn

I hunt any and all, depending on where the research points me.
Yes, the reales came from within Cook county.
