It was one of those days....

I hope I never forget. It started out with a gift to my nephew yesterday of a fishing rod and backpack for his 5th birthday. He was casting 35-50 feet in less then an hour. I also spent time with my mom, sister and some friends. Today I met my buddy for coffee and we met up with another friend and headed up to visit my uncle who I hadn't seen almost a year. We had been given permission to detect a giant expanse of land to which we had to ourselves for the day. The location was an iron mining area and later a summer retreat. We hunted around the old blast furnace and found lots of iron, then concentrated on a cellar hole away from the furnace. My friend who I just met today found a beautiful button and i decided to try my luck. To my amazement I found 2 Infantry buttons close together. I then called my new friend over to find the next one and he spent a half an hour digging up junk. I guess I should have kept my mouth shut. At noon I drove down and picked my Dad up (the guy with the white beard.) We hit several spots and had a blast. It was such a gift to have a full day to see friends and family and get some killer finds. 3 of the silver quarters came from under one apple tree. After heading down the mountain at 6:30 (we got there at 9:00) My Dad, Donnie and I got some pizza and I headed back to Donny's to talk treasure and look up at the stars for a bit.
Tomorrow I get to fish with my sister, nephew, brother-in-law and my Dad.
"Life is good!"
